UX case study

The spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) across the country has forced lots of people to shift to online spaces as they are not allowed to move out of their houses. The fear of spread of COVID resulted in mass quarantine of hundred of millions of citizens across the globe. This gave an opportunity to the dark elements i.e. the cybercrime elements of the society to take advantage of people who have recently moved online to perform basic tasks. To be socially active
like for entertainment, shopping etc they had to use the internet as
a technology. To protect them and give knowledge about internet
age was necessary for safe usage of the technology.

The aim here was to create a mobile app that allows you to consume, share and act on threat intelligence. It enables you to rapidly research the latest security threats, consult with experts and Increase your knowledge giving you courses and news all on single application. Even warn you for future vulnerabilities in cybercrime industry.

Stakeholder Interviews

To understand and know the problem initial interview was taken with the Police departement and experts.Which gave insights to the current situation, challenges faced.

Increase in cybercrime cases in the last 3 months a lot of people reported crime in banking, UPI frauds

Less training facilities, so cant handle complex technology which takes along duration to solve cases

Less man power can’t handle all the cases at one time so a lot of cases are pending

Invesment by goverment in this sector is less and money is there in those sectors that help general public that is hospitals etc

Technology is out dated, equipments are not in a good state.

People who do cybercrime are mostly youth, dropouts and they harm people who are not so tech proficient. They want to earn money at a faster rate.

User interviews were taken to validate data and understand more key challenges. I took 15 interviews who would be representative of target demographics.

Difficulty in identification of application on playstore or applestore which is the original application.

Easily trust people related to their financial and banking needs.Shares OTP with people very easily without hesitation at some times.

Random Advertisement popups when operate on browser and some applications.Difficult to identify if its part of the website or different whole together.

Problem in reading small text in some applications.which contain important data related to banking.

Long and tiring process to report Cybercrime. No status updates on the FIR and investigation going on,Takes alot of time to investigate(3-4 months)

Dislike tech products with new features and complex navigation.Takes time to learn and remember
